sudden skinner death

Well I was looking around the net about my problem. It's not so bad at the moment. I only take my pills once in a while. Yesterday I had chest pain that I think was my esophogus. I took one of my Lorazapam and it miraculously went away. I looked into this and it turns out Lorazopam is used for esophogal spasm. Anyway I thought I would quote this article I read about panic disorder and sudden death. I was talking to Dad about how all the people in his family kept dropping like flies. Maybe this has something to do with it. I know when I get nervous my heart also does not beat the way that it should. If I take the pills the doctor gave me I go back to normal. (but a little sleepy)

Sudden Cardiac Death
There also appears to be an association between PD and sudden cardiac death. Sudden cardiac death has been linked to anxiety symptoms in a number of community studies. A large epidemiologic study of 2280 men found that those with 2 or more anxiety symptoms had more than 4 times the risk of sudden cardiac death than did those without such symptoms.58 Three prospective epidemiologic studies59,65,66 have shown that “phobic anxiety” (anxiety similar to the anticipatory anxiety of panic attacks) is associated with a significantly increased risk of sudden cardiac death; these studies have shown that persons with the highest levels of anxiety suffer sudden cardiac death 4 to 6 times more frequently than do those without anxiety symptoms.
The postulated mechanism by which phobic anxiety—and possibly PD—is related to sudden cardiac death involves dysregulation of normal autonomic influence on cardiac activity, as measured by heart rate variability. Decreased heart rate variability suggests pathologic variation in autonomic regulation and is an established risk factor for sudden cardiac death independent of ventricular function or ectopy.67–69 Patients with phobic anxiety have been shown to have decreased heart rate variability,68 and such patients have been found to have rates of sudden cardiac death up to 6 times higher than those for nonanxious patients.59,65,66
Studies of patients with PD have suggested that decreased heart rate variability occurs in this disorder as well. Two studies by Yeragani and colleagues69,70 demonstrated that patients with PD had shown significantly decreased heart rate variability in both supine and standing positions and in response to isoproterenol infusions. Klein and associates71 also found significantly decreased variability in a small study of 10 patients with PD, while 1 study of patients with PD or social phobia found no such differences in heart rate variability.72 Given the link between phobic anxiety, decreased heart rate variability, and sudden cardiac death, it seems quite feasible that PD, with its associated decrease in heart rate variability, may predispose to sudden cardiac death as well.

Loadrunner

Brian;

Finally a new version of load runner

Book of Mormon Dinner

On Saturday we went to the Moroni Stake old folks social. It was held at a members of the stake presidencies summer home above Fountain Green. It was a really nice dinner they had lots of interesting things about the Book of Mormon there also some famous Book of Mormon characters. I thought that you might enjoy seeing Captain Moroni, and Helaman and Nephi. I hope that you can figure out who is who. We also got to see some alpacas and find out more about them. You know that is takes 11 months to have a alpaca baby so I guess us woman shouldn't complain.

Brian & Marci's Visit

We had a good visit from Brian and Marci and kids over the Easter vacation. We had lots of fun being with them. It made our Easter more interesting. We also had fun playing with Bowser. It is surely is quiet around the house when everyone leaves. Dad has an appointment with the cardiologist but it isn't until May 11th. He has been taking some medicine and has been some better the last couple of days.

Update on my condition

Well I went to the doctor on Friday. I was nervous and tired all day at work and told the boss I needed to go to the doctor. I couldn't take those pills they gave me before because they make me tired and I can't be driving a truck like that. The doctor in Conrad seems to think my problem isn't my thryroid. I am not too happy about that. I am not sure he isn't wrong either. I am going to get my thryoid tested tomorrow to make sure he is not barking up a tree. He gave me two other pills to try. One is clonazaspam. It doesn't make you as sleepy as Lorazapam. It seems to work good but doesn't make me as "happy" : ). The other one he gave me was effexor. I don't really know what to think of that stuff. I took it for the first time today just before church and during sacarament it made me nervous and I could feel the pulse in my head. I went and took one of the clonazapam and about a 1/2 hr later I was calming down. I took marci home so she could sleep and then I went to preisthood. I am not sure if this effexor is supposed to work this way but I was kind of dozing off in preisthood and the thought came into my head "I'm out of the army now." I dozed a little bit more and then "in my minds eye" I could see a delicous looking roast beef. I was convinced I was going to be eating it and then I came to my senses. Going from being about to eat roast beef to hearing about Joseph smith in Liberty Jail is kind of a bummer. I am not sure I will keep taking this effexer since I don't think I need it anyway. Don't you guys remember grandpa Nuffer always saying he was getting nervous? Maybe that is what I have. Medical marijuana might be the answer.

DEAR FAMILY AND FRIENDS,

SOAK-DEE BE MAI LAO !!!!

HAPPY LAO NEW YEAR!!!! THAT IS NOT HOW YOU SPELL SOAK (OR THE REST OF IT, BUT I’LL SPELL IT PHONETICALLY AND...) WRITE IT THAT WAY BECAUSE EVERYONE GOT SOAK-IN’ WET FOR THREE DAYS. BASICALLY IT WAS A THREE-DAY-NATIONAL-HOLIDAY-WATER-THROWING-EVENT. EVERYONE SEEMED TO LOVE IT. WE WOULD BE WALKING DOWN THE STREET, AND PEOPLE WOULD COME OUT AND POUR WATER ON US. IT WAS HOT ENOUGH THAT IT FELT PRETTY GOOD! YOU WOULD SEE LOTS OF PEOPLE POURING WATER ON THEMSELVES FOR THE SAME REASON.

THIS ALL STARTED ON TUESDAY AND WENT THROUGH THURSDAY, OFFICIALLY, ALTHOUGH THE SHOPS WERE PRETTY MUCH CLOSED FOR 9 OR 10 DAYS. WHEN WE WENT SHOPPING AT MUDDY MARKET ON SATURDAY, IT WAS VERY SLIM PICKINGS. ON WEDNESDAY WE WENT TO THE CHURCH TO PAINT SOME BOARDS. ON THE WAY HOME IN A TUK-TUK WE GOT SOAKED 20 OR 30 TIMES WITH BUCKETS, HOSES, ANYTHING THAT WOULD HOLD WATER. IN THE WATS, THEY WOULD USUALLY SPRINKLE WATER ON YOU WITH LEAVES DIPPED IN WATER, OR POUR WATER ON YOU FROM A SILVER OR GOLD BOWL. WHATEVER WAY, IT WAS A WET THREE DAYS. THERE WERE A LOT OF PARTIES LEADING UP TO THE NEW YEAR, BUT ON FRIDAY IT WAS PRETTY DEAD. I THINK EVERYONE WAS INSIDE WITH A HANG OVER AND/OR SLEEPING.

SATURDAY, WE PAINTED MORE BOARDS, LAMINATED MORE MATERIALS FOR SCHOOLS AND THE SEMINARY PROGRAM (MASTERY SCRIPTURES, THE ARTICLES OF FAITH , AND PICTURES OF THE KIDS THAT ATTEND PRIMARY. ELDER OLDHAM AND I WENT BOWLING WITH BROTHER TAKEI AND HIS SON KEN. KEN IS THE ONLY JAPANESE BOY IN THE BRANCH AND DOESN’T SPEAK LAO. SISTER RISER TEACHES A PRIMARY LESSON TO HIM IN ENGLISH, WHICH HE KNOWS QUITE WELL, BUT THERE’S NOT A LOT OF FELLOWSHIPPING OTHERWISE. SOOO, WE ARE TRYING TO DO THINGS WITH KEN TO MAKE IT A LITTLE MORE BEARABLE IN LAO.

TODAY WE HAD A BELATED EASTER PROGRAM AND THEN WATCHED THE SATURDAY AFTERNOON SESSION OF GENERAL CONFERENCE.

BACK TO MONDAY---- WE DID SOME VISITING OF MEMBERS AND FRIENDS. FIRST OF ALL, WE WENT TO HOSPITAL #105 WHERE WE VISITED A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL’S WIFE WHO HAD BROKEN HER LEG. WHILE WE WERE TRYING TO FIND HER, PRESIDENT KHAMPHEE CAME ACROSS ANOTHER GOVERNMENT SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICIAL WHO WAS HIT BY A VAN THEN RAN INTO A BUS (WHILE DRUNK) THE NIGHT BEFORE. HIS ARM FELL UNDER THE WHEEL OF THE BUS AND WAS CRUSHED AND HAD TO BE AMPUTATED. HIS HEAD HIT THE WHEEL AND HE HAS A LOT OF STICHES ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HIS FACE. HE IS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. ANYWAY, HE WAS VERY HAPPY TO SEE US AND EVEN SEEMED TO BE IN GOOD SPIRITS. BY THE WAY, HE IS A KEY FIGURE IN WORKING IN THE NAXAYTHONG SCHOOL DISTRICT. I BELIEVE WE WERE AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME.

AFTER VISITING THESE TWO PEOPLE WE VISITED JAMES POON’S MOTHER AND SISTER. (HE TRANSLATES GENERAL CONFERENCE INTO LAO FOR THE CHURCH IN SALT LAKE) HIS MOTHER IS DOING VERY WELL FOR AN 85 YEAR OLD. I BELIEVE HIS SISTER AND MOTHER WOULD JOIN THE CHURCH IF WE COULD GET SOMEONE TO PICK THEM UP EACH WEEK.

THEN WE WENT TO VISIT A LESS-ACTIVE FAMILY, THE PRATKHAM ORN’S. (THEY ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE POON’S TO GIVE THAT RIDE TO CHURCH IF THEY WOULD) THEN TO ANOTHER FAMILY THAT JOINED THE CHURCH IN DECEMBER. HER PARENTS LIVE IN OREM AND ARE MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH. SHE ALSO HAS TWO BROTHERS IN THE CHURCH. THEY ARE DOING VERY WELL. IT WAS VERY ENJOYABLE VISITING THESE PEOPLE. “HOME TEACHING” IS GREAT!

I HOPE YOU ALL TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH GENERAL CONFERENCE. WE ARE GETTING IT BIT BY BIT. THE LAO WORD FOR OPPORTUNITY SOUNDS LIKE -------OH, GOD ------- AT FIRST I DIDN’T LIKE THE SOUND, BUT THEN I THOUGHT ABOUT THE CONNECTION. GOD GIVES US THE OPPORTUNITY ------THEN IT IS UP TO US TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OPPORTUNITY. ELDER BALLARD TALKED ABOUT LEARNING FROM THE PAST, “BUT THE CHOICE IS YOURS”. ELDER PEARSON SAID, “PERSONAL RIGHTOUSNESS IS A CHOICE.” WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME LIKE OUR HEAVENLY PARENTS---- THE CHOICE IS OURS, EVERY MINUTE, EVERY DAY.

LOVE, DAD
