My yard work day.

I spent all day doing yard work. I watered my garden, planted a few trees, pulled weeds, and moved some raspberry bushes. I also washed my wife's car and installed her ETC reader. ETC is used to pay tolls on the highway here in Japan.

We didn't need more snow

We had a nice snow storm last night if you can call snow nice. When we measured it we had about 7 ". I guess there are two good things about it, 1. it will water the lawn. 2. It won't last long. Dad and I have been busy walking and picking up cans. We made it all way to Wales this week, by doing a little each day. We collected about 15 grocery bags of cans. We take them to our friend and she recycles them. I think we are becoming know around town, people wave at us.

family reunion

Dad and I have gotten the family reunion scheduled and we have a new place to go. Karen and Larry B. have said that we can use their cabin in Spanish Fork Canyon, we are very grateful to them. It is going to be the 3rd week in June, the 24th thru the 26. We hope that you can all come. We hope to have lots of fun.

laundry detergent

Some of the people in our area have been using these recipes to make cheaper cleaners and laundry soap. I thought that you might be interested in the recipes. One thing that I thought about was that it would be much easier to store the ingredients and make soap in case of an emergency because it would take up much more room to store the already made detergents. I made up the liquid laundry soap and it seem to work pretty good. It doesn't suds up but otherwise it cleans the clothes and has a nice lemony smell.

Motther's Day and Father's Day

Dear Family,

If you are wondering what to get us for presents, let me give you some suggestions. I need a new movie camera and Dad wants a new tv stand so if you would like you can just contribute a little money toward the purchase of those two items and then you won't have to worry about what to buy. If you already have purchased presents don't worry that will be fine too. I just thought that you might appreciate the suggestions. Dad has been working hard the last few days trying to put some bricks around the yard to edge it. It looks like spring has finally arrived in our area. It has been nice and warm the last few days.
